Medical Equpiment Repair Schools

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

With the amount of medical products and equipment constantly being engineered and improved upon, there is a growing market for medical equipment technicians and medical repair. With the effectiveness of healthcare on the line, the demand is a considerable one.

Medical equpiment repair courses are typically offered at the community college, vocational or trade school level and they are quite extensive and in-depth. They teach students to not only learn how to keep medical equipment in good working condition but they also allow students to know about the general purposes and operations of various medical machines. Although there is an emphasis on the technical aspects of medical equipment repair such as troubleshooting and calibration, it is crucial that they understand the big comprehensive picture.

If you want to attend school and get an official degree in medical equipment repair, there are certainly many career options for you. Graduates often find employment as Biomedical Equipment Technicians, Biomedical Support Technicals, Electronics Technicans and even Computer Technicians. They can work for any various institutions such as public hospitals, clinics, private medical equipment repair and manufacturing companies. Just as in many careers, recent graduates from medical equipment repair schools will have to shadow more experienced workers for a period of time with close supervision before they gradually move into their own independent terms.

How to Raise Money to Buy Medical Equipment

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Here at Sacred Heart Center, we are a free clinic providing healthcare for young women who have low or limited income and can’t afford health insurance on their own. We strive to maintain the utmost level of care and attention. The only reason we are able to stay afloat is with the undying support and service by volunteers and donations from the community, such as refurbished medical equipment.

Because funding is primarily donated on the local level and we get little if any government assistance, it can be tough on us some times. The tools that we need begin to run short and we find ourselves using medical machines for longer than they normally would or should be used. This is precisely the Sacred Heart Center has taken greater measures recently to raise more money so that our clinicians can have the proper medical equipment to treat their patients.

As any other non-profit institution, we have to proactively raise proceeds to receive the valuable funds that we need to run our center. Although there are many kind groups and individuals who donate voluntarily, there are many who aren’t even aware about who we are. This is why we have to openly make an impression by first spreading the word about our free clinic. You’d be surprised by the amount of people willing to contribute to get you going. When they believe in your cause–and free healthcare for the poor is a good one to believe in–they are more inclined to either donate medical equipment and supplies and money or match funds. Another way to get the ball rolling is to write grants. You solicit the organizations and service providers directly and whether or not they actually decide to donate, you will have gotten your name out.

Finally, you should set reasonable goals to meet your needs. Set them high enough so that it can encourage you to do better but low enough so that you won’t be disappointed. In the end, with fundraising, you can only gain and even if the person or institution opts to not donate, don’t consider it a loss.

The Reason for Used Medical Equipment

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

As a medical school professor, I know precisely how difficult it is to gather enough funds to afford all the resources that are needed to properly educate students who are in the medical field. With rising costs of materials, medical equipment can run a pretty penny but they are absolutely necessary to facilitate the best kind of training. There really can’t be any alternative or settlement for anything less when we are essentially trying to teach young people to be future doctors of this country. The only instance in which we are able to skimp is in buying used medical equipment instead of brand new ones.

When people think of used items, they automatically have negative preconceived notions about it. They think that quality is not inherent in any of the products when they have already been pre-used. This is an unfair assessment because when you consider the standards for medical equipment today, it would make little sense to invest in equipment that is sub-par. When we receive donated used medical equipment or buy it at a discounted price, we are deliberating its durability in mind. Alot of times, you can find used medical equipment from reliable hospitals and care centers who have newer machines coming in directly from distributors. In many cases, it’s not because they can’t use it anymore; it’s simply because when faced with the choice of having new or even newer, they would naturally opt for the second choice. Even if the used medical equipment is in slight disrepair, you can have it as good as new with some professional refurbishing.

All in all, used medical equipment, such as used EKG machines, is the best way for us to afford these valuable tools for our students and ensure the brightness of their future careers.

Medical Equipment Financing Saves Money

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

This is the time of year when we’re all trying to save money where we can, because we’re all spending more than we should anyway. If you happen to work in the medical field, you may notice that almost no job is safe anymore, including those that used to be almost untouchable, like healthcare jobs. That means that if you haven’t done it yet, take it upon yourself to find ways that your medical office, clinic or hospital can save money if little emergencies arise. Things like suggesting medical equipment financing or perhaps looking into refurbished medical equipment would be a prudent move to keep everything afloat.

For instance, maybe the EKG machine that you and your colleagues depend on every day breaks down. The medical equipment repair technician is called, but he concludes that you will have to replace it, because the cost of replacing everything would be more than a new machine. With your smart business sense, you go to the boss and suggest that you look into financing or look into used EKG machines, because that would save the business money of buying a brand new EKG outright. Your boss will be happy you took the initiative and may even take your advice. Financing and refurbished medical equipment is the way to go to get the job done right and save money.

Find Discount Medical School Equipment Online

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Like most places, even medical schools have to save money where they can, while still providing the best education for their students. It is a fine balancing act, but professors know that their medical students are going to break things every so often while they’re learning, or some of the medical school equipment will need to be replaced, and the institution has to account for these miscellaneous costs in their annual budgets. One way that medical schools can save a little money to keep everything in budget is to find discount medical equipment.

Discount doesn’t mean that the machines are less capable of assisting future doctors learn the techniques and complete their tasks. Discount merely means that the administrator was savvy enough to find a medical equipment supplier who could give the college the lowest price possible on the machines. And in these rough economic times, it’s no surprise that schools, which don’t make a great deal of money, need to find ways to save money. So if you hear about discounted or refurbished medical equipment, remember that’s something we can all take a lesson from–it doesn’t have to be brand new or full price to get the job done.

Used Medical Imaging Equipment Saved My Life

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

You know how people say that something saved their life sometimes, but they don’t mean it literally? Well, used medical imaging equipment saved my life, and I don’t mean it figuratively. There I was minding my own business one day, when I felt a pain in my side. The pain was moderate at first, and then grew into being unbearable within a few hours. I wasn’t sure what it could be, but my brother said we need to go to the Emergency Room now! So he drove me over there and they admitted me right away due to the acute nature of the pain.

Before I knew it the doctors were poking and prodding and then they performed an ultrasound test on my thoracic cavity so that they could get a better sense of what was going in my body. Long story short, the medical imaging technolog was able to show the doctors that I had a large cyst in my side and that it needed to be removed pronto, because it was pushing on my other organs. So I scheduled the surgery and before I knew it I was feeling much better. In my case, medical equipment really did save my life, and I’m much healthier and happier because of it!

I Found What I Want at a Medical Equipment Show

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

I’ve done a lot of shopping so far, but the most unusual place I’ve been to so far is tagging along with a friend of mine to a medical equipment show. I work in the medical field as a nurse, so I understand some of the machines that I saw there, but some of them are completely new to me and absolutely fascinating! I saw some of the new medical equipment that will be released for sale next year, and it’s amazing how far technology has come and continues to evolve every week!

While at the show, I saw some great new patient monitors that I would love to have at the hospital I work at currently. Our older machines do work and get the job done, don’t get me wrong, but these new patient monitors can keep track of so much more and make my life as a busy hospital nurse a little easier. I would really like to get this new technology in our hospital, but I know that it’s expensive. The best way to get our hands on it and make our patient care even better would be to look into medical equipment leasing, which makes new technology much more affordable. I’ve found the gift that will make everyone at work happy!

Medical Products Everyone Wants

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Although a medical product might not the be the first thing you think of for your loved ones and friends this Christmas, you might want to consider it. With the rising cost of healthcare and insurance, many people can’t get everything they need with their insurance or lack thereof, and they might really appreciate your thoughtfulness if you get them the medical products they need for Christmas rather than the sweater or gift certificate they don’t.

Maybe your Aunt would like a power chair so that she can get around town and her home to regain her independence, or your grandparents would like some helpful home medical equipment like pulse oximeters to keep an eye on their blood oxygenation levels to stay healthy. Whatever medical product that your family members could use will probably be much more helpful than you know. Get your loved ones and friends the gift of continued good health with the medical products they need this Christmas!
